I'd give four stars, cause I'm going to keep reading the series: it's very easy to caught up in the story and the writing, and I'd usually find I'd read more chapters then I'd anticipated. And I do really want to find out what happens next...
But I'm taking away a star for the things I didn't like. It's kinda sad, & incredibly harsh towards the children. Even a simple lesson seems to involve a unnecessarily brutal beating. I'll give a pass to the incest and under-age marriage...but for all that it's the nature of the book, a lot of the violence seems oddly out of place. Or it's just me--though I guess it gives insight into the Hound's nature, but really, how many times does Sansa need to be beaten? Or Arya threatened by random people? It gets a bit repetitive.
